Opal in Matrix is a beautiful multicolored stone with a black base color. Since it is often discovered and mined in Honduras is has earned the name 'Honduras Black Opal.' Opal in Matrix is cut in Cabochon to display the gorgeous multicolored effects for which it's famous. The stone displays its remarkable color properties which are 'essentially' tiny flecks of opal that shine naturally brilliant colors. I had a great time searching all the lovely stones. This is my first precious loose stone purchase for my own work. I chose sapphire, and found some lovely briolettes. I wanted 3, but this set of 4 was perfect. Everything was quick and easy, and I'm excited.
