Sphene is named from the Greek word for wedge, because of its typical wedge shaped crystal habit. The mineralogical name "Titanite" derives from its titanium contents. Sphene is strongly pleochroic, displaying at least three colors (colorless, greenish-yellow, reddish) when looked at from different angles.

Natural sphene is scientifically known as Titanite, named after its titanium content.

I have actually done business with them before and was quite satisfied with them then.My Mother collected turtle items and when I saw the Mother of Pearl turtle...I just thought of her and decided to buy it.
