Ceylon, which is now known as Sri Lanka, is one of the best-known sources for sapphire gems, particularly Ceylon blue sapphire. Sri Lanka has produced sapphire for many years and a few of the famous sapphires include the 423 carat Logan Blue Sapphire, the 563 carat Star of India, and the 478 carat Queen Marie of Romania's Sapphire. Sri Lanka still produces beautiful sapphire gems to this day.

Sapphire, with its Mohs hardness score of 9, second only to diamond, is one of the most valuable and wearable of all gemstones. Famed for its brilliance and rich blue color, sapphire actually occurs in a wide range of colors, including pink, yellow and green. Natural sapphire gemstones may be used in various jewelry designs, from engagement rings to earrings. Our Ceylon sapphire stones are available in various shapes, cuts and colors, such as blue, fancy pink, yellow, violet and white. Sapphire is every color of corundum except for red, which is ruby. The name corundum comes from the ancient Sanskrit "kuruvindam", while the name "sapphire" comes from the Persian word "safir". Sapphire is seen as the guardian of love. When given as a gift it enhances love and tunes your spirits to one another. Also, it has been used to banish envy and jealousy as well as promote fidelity in marriage.

I love your selection of gems. My only complaing is I wish I could put in a page number to return to that page.When there are over 60 pages of gems it is hard to return to a page with a gem I am considering.

The website is user friendly, has excellent selection. I've always found what I was looking for with Gem Select. When others don't have it they do. And most important, they have a way for you to pay without using PayPal. I cannot use PayPal they closed my account because of no cell phone.

over the experience was similar to other sites i have used. The only real note I have is the checkout experience was tedious and discriminatory, i wouldn't accept visa gift cards, which not only have guaranteed funds but help protect from misuse of personal information, but would not accept my visa b/c it is a prepaid card. I don't have bank account and I have been using the prepaid card for years without issue so this was disappointing to me. I feel safer using reputable gem sites rather than amazon or ebay (I have been sold fake gems with fake certs on both), but not being able to use my own valid legitimate funds and having to find a friend to buy for me b/c I use a non-bank card like 40% of the country is insulting.
