Product Description:

Pyrite is one of the few shiny, metallic gemstones available today. It is often referred to as Fool's Gold in the trade. A rare variety of pyrite found only in Russia is Rainbow Pyrite, which is a fairly recent find that is traded in drusy form.

Pyrite is named for the Greek word for fire, since it's known to produce sparks when struck with steel. Pyrite is an opaque gemstone that is cut en cabochon and exhibits an attractive metallic luster. Pyrite deposits can be found in Peru, Bolivia, Romania, Sweden, Mexico, and the United States.

I love your selection of gems. My only complaing is I wish I could put in a page number to return to that page.When there are over 60 pages of gems it is hard to return to a page with a gem I am considering.

So many gorgeous stones! The only "complaint" I have is it's difficult to visualize sizes in mm. Perhaps some way to compare in inches?It has been a long time since I bought stones from Gem select, but the process wasn't too difficult.

Gemselect is a good website with a great selection of loose gems for sale. The prices are fairly decent, with the only negative being the cut quality of the gems. This is my go to retailer for gemstones and will continue to be, given that the packages arrive in a timely manner.
