The Chinese Zodiac was developed based on a lunar calendar and certain ‘lucky’ gemstones have become associated with each of the birth year animal symbols.

Each day of the week has an associated planet or celestial body – the Moon for Monday, Mars for Tuesday and so on. Ancient Hindu or Vedic astrologers assigned gemstones to these heavenly spheres, which have, in turn, linked them to the days.

The time you were born is influenced by the position of the sun, the moon and other planets in the skies above us. Those astral bodies have gemstone companions which tally to times of the day.
