Tarot Cards and Gemstones

Tarot originated as a parlor game in 16th-century Europe but gradually evolved into a tool for divination and personal guidance. Rather than forecasting the future, Tarot cards are designed to help you access your intuition and provide insight for decision-making.

The world of Tarot and the world of crystals are very much interconnected.

Tarot packs contain 22 Major Arcana cards which are used to determine life pathways and reflect personality traits. These include such classic images as The Fool, The Lovers and Death and each one can be linked to at least one gemstone.

In addition, gemstones can enhance a tarot session by being placed on the table when giving or receiving a reading. Crystals which stimulate higher levels of spiritual communication, motivate intuition and encourage relaxation include:

Lapis Lazuli - helps to relate to higher planes of consciousness
Amazonite - creates a very relaxed atmosphere
Blue Agate - boosts communication process

When you are not using your Tarot cards, store them with a crystal or two to cleanse, recharge and protect them from negative energies. Two great gemstones for this are:

Gemselect is a good website with a great selection of loose gems for sale. The prices are fairly decent, with the only negative being the cut quality of the gems. This is my go to retailer for gemstones and will continue to be, given that the packages arrive in a timely manner.
