July Newsletter - Summer gemstone selections and more

While there are plenty of gems connected to the summer, we shine the spotlight on pink tourmaline - perfect for everyday wear, and kunzite - suitable for breezy summer nights.

Hot Pink Tourmalines

Pink has become one of the most popular colors in gemstones, and no gemstone offers as many choices in pink as tourmaline. You can find every possible shade of pink in tourmaline, including unusual bi-color and tri-color pieces. If you're searching for a hot pink gem, you'll most likely find it in tourmaline. Pink tourmaline is perfect for everyday wear and our new stock includes some stunning octagon scissor cut gems as well as range of other shapes and sizes.

Kunzite - The Evening Gemstone

We are not sure if there is a more modern looking gemstone than Kunzite, its vivid colors and cheeky sparkle seem to capture the glitzy fashions of contemporary life. Kunzite has a pale pink to violet color and the color tends to be quite delicate in most cases although some more vivid and vibrant gemstones can be found. Kunzite is often known as the Evening Stone as in some cases long exposure to the sun will cause the color to fade and hence, Kunzite is best worn at night.

Faceted Moss Agate

Agate is a very popular gemstone and we know agate has been used by man for at least 3000 years as it got its name from the Ancient Greek philosopher Theophrastus. Moss Agate is type of Agate that is mostly creamy colored with greenish inclusions that look like moss. This gem type is typically cabochon cut, but we have managed to get our hands on some unusual faceted Moss Agates. There are only a very limited gems available so do not miss out!

It would be very difficult to find a gemstone with more prestige and fame than July's Birthstone - Ruby. Known for centuries as the king of precious stones, Ruby is still one of the most popular gemstones in the world. Gift a Ruby for someone you love who celebrates a birthday in this month.
