Asscher Cut Gems Buy gems by shape. The Asscher Cut is named after its first designer; Joseph Asscher, who designed the Asscher cut in 1902 to increase the brilliance of step-cut diamonds. Asscher cuts were popular in the 1920s in Art Deco jewelry. More recently, from the 1990s up until the present day, Asscher cuts became popular for engagement rings. Asscher cuts make emerald-cut gemstones sparkle and look beautiful on both precious and semi-precious gemstones. Asscher cut gemstones can be fashioned into various jewelry designs, from solitaire rings to pendants and earrings. Our Asscher-cut gemstones can be found in various gem types, sizes and colors that include rose quartz, smoky quartz, apatite and more.

man their gems are pretty good, and the prices aren't to bad either, I like checking out hte gems on there website, beceause the pictures of the gems are taken pretty well, and you can see the table, and the facets.
I love gemselect and I have bought a fair amount from them. The only complaint I have is not being able to save gems. I have a lot of projects so i am in the market for a lot of different gems and it's so disappointing to have to delete them all just to purchase one or two that I have saved in my cart.
