FAQs

What is loose azurite, and how is it different from other gemstones?

Loose azurite refers to unmounted stones, making them versatile for collectors and jewelry makers. Unlike pre-set gems, azurite loose stones can be used in custom designs or displayed as azurite specimens.

What makes azurite gemstones popular for jewelry?

Azurite gemstones are valued for their deep blue color and unique patterns. They are often shaped into azurite cabochons or polished azurite stones, making them ideal for creating striking rings, pendants, and earrings.

Are polished azurite stones better for jewelry or collecting?

Polished azurite stones are excellent for both purposes. Their smooth finish enhances their natural beauty, making them perfect as azurite jewelry stones for custom pieces or as part of a collector’s azurite crystals display.

Why are blue azurite gems considered rare?

Blue azurite gems are prized for their vibrant and distinct coloration. High-quality examples of loose azurite are becoming increasingly scarce, making them a sought-after choice for gem enthusiasts and collectors.

What types of azurite specimens are available for collectors?

Collectors can find a variety of azurite specimens, including raw pieces, polished azurite stones, and collector’s azurite crystals. Each offers a unique glimpse into the geological formation of this fascinating mineral.

I've made several purchases through GemSelect in the past, although not within the last six months. Their gems are always beautiful and I have never had an issue with their prices or their stones. Even when I'm not buying, I love scrolling through their website, which is very user friendly. I especially appreciate being able to change the listing order to your own liking, such as most to least expensive, largest to smallest, etc. As with most online orders, however, I think the shipping charges are not commensurate with the actual weight of the items shipped.
