I always enjoy the selection and the unique cuts I can find here. I would love to see more hex cuts tho! Maybe some rose cuts too!

I was looking for a site with every type of gem I could want for setting in luxury blades and assumed I would need to look outside the US, but GemSelect made it easy to get everything I wanted without leaving the house! Wide enough selection that I do not feel the need to look elsewhere and pricing the same.

Sillimanite is an aluminum silicate, related to both andalusite and kyanite. In fact these three minerals are polymorphs - they share the same chemical composition but different crystal structures.
Sillimanite is named after the American chemist Benjamin Silliman (1779-1864). Silliman was one of the first American professors of science and taught at Yale University.
