"Side Stones" / "Accent Stones" for Jewelry Designers

Side Stones for Jewelry Designers
Accent Stones for Jewelry Designers

The imagination of jewelers seems to be limitless and is perhaps only restricted by the availability of the right gemstones in the right colors and sizes. GemSelect believes we have you covered when it comes to the variety of gemstones we have in stock and that includes everything a jewelry designer needs in the way of side stones, accent stones, pavé stones, halo stones and melee gemstones.

A quick recap for those unfamiliar with these terms:

  • Side stones are gemstones which are used to flank a central stone usually on a ring but also brooches, pendants or other specialized items of jewelry.
  • Accent stones are small gemstones that are used to emphasize the quality and appearance of the center or main stone. Accent stones are used in a very similar way to side stones but are often just a bit smaller.
  • Pavé stones (pronounced par-vay) are closely set gemstones with little or no space between them similar to paved roads. It can give the impression that the ring or jewelry item is one large stone.
  • A halo setting is a circle of small accent stones that surround a larger center stone.
  • Melee is a general term used for tiny gemstones used to add beauty to jewelry items.

At GemSelect we have a huge stock of traditional gemstones that can be used as any of the above decorative stones including diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, garnets, zircon and the like as well as a great range of more difficult to find gemstones such as tsavorite, sphene, kyanite, demantoid and many more.

Our easy to follow filter system can narrow your selection by size, color, type, price, shape and more until you find just the gemstone you require. And our money back guarantee unless completely satisfied means you can shop with confidence.

To make it even easier we have a list of gemstones that come in small sizes and are sold as singles, pairs and lots - just click on the size you need to see a complete selection.
