A cushion cut sapphire is a type of gemstone cut that combines the rounded corners of a traditional pillow shape with the brilliance of a square or rectangular cut. The result is a timeless and elegant look, making it a popular choice for engagement rings and fine jewelry.
What are the different types of cushion cut sapphires available?
We offer a variety of cushion cut sapphires, including natural cushion cut sapphires, heat-treated cushion cut sapphires, and certified cushion cut sapphires. You can also choose from different colors such as blue sapphire cushion cut and rich blue sapphires, each with its own unique appeal.
How do I choose the best cushion cut sapphire?
When selecting a cushion cut sapphire, it’s important to consider factors like color, clarity, carat weight, and treatment. If you're looking for a classic blue hue, a blue sapphire cushion cut or a rich blue sapphire might be the right choice for you. Certified cushion cut sapphires offer the added assurance of quality and authenticity.
What is the difference between a natural cushion cut sapphire and a heat-treated one?
A natural cushion cut sapphire is one that has not undergone any treatments, preserving its natural beauty. On the other hand, a heat-treated cushion cut sapphire has been treated to enhance its color and clarity. Both types are available in various shades, including rich blue sapphires and blue sapphire cushion cuts.
Are cushion cut sapphires a good choice for engagement rings?
Yes, cushion cut sapphires are an excellent choice for engagement rings due to their timeless appeal and stunning brilliance. Whether you opt for a blue sapphire cushion cut, a rich blue sapphire, or a certified cushion cut sapphire, this cut enhances the stone’s natural beauty and creates a captivating look.

I found what I was looking for...had to look up millimeters to inches. It would be nice to see something, like a quarter, in the pix to show relative size. I plan on buy loose gemstones for every month in the calendar

I've made several purchases through GemSelect in the past, although not within the last six months. Their gems are always beautiful and I have never had an issue with their prices or their stones. Even when I'm not buying, I love scrolling through their website, which is very user friendly. I especially appreciate being able to change the listing order to your own liking, such as most to least expensive, largest to smallest, etc. As with most online orders, however, I think the shipping charges are not commensurate with the actual weight of the items shipped.

I have been buying gems for several years off and on and love their selection and great low prices. I started out wanting to get an example of each type of gem but after looking at all the types of gems and reading about them I realize it is almost impossible for me to do. It took me years just to read about them all. Gem Select is the best gem site you can find. For information or to buy. Steve M.
