A Burma ruby, often called a Burmese ruby, is known for its vibrant red hues and exceptional clarity. The finest Burma rubies originate from the Mogok ruby mines in Myanmar and often display the highly sought-after Pigeon Blood Ruby color.
Are loose Burma rubies suitable for custom jewelry?
Absolutely! Loose Burma rubies are ideal for custom jewelry designs. Whether you choose a single burma ruby loose for a ring or a set of loose rubies for earrings, their unmatched beauty adds elegance to any piece.
What is the difference between Burmese ruby and other rubies?
A Burmese ruby is distinguished by its origin in Myanmar, particularly from the famous Mogok ruby mines. These rubies are prized for their deep red tones, including the iconic Pigeon Blood Ruby, which is rare in other ruby varieties.
Why should I choose a loose ruby instead of a pre-set gemstone?
Opting for a loose ruby, such as a loose Burma ruby, gives you flexibility in designing your jewelry. You can select the perfect ruby loose or burma ruby loose to match your style and specifications.
How do I care for my loose Burma rubies?
To maintain the beauty of your loose Burma ruby, clean it gently with mild soapy water and a soft cloth. Avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals or extreme temperatures, which may affect the gemstone's luster and quality.
What is a Pigeon Blood Ruby?
A Pigeon Blood Ruby is a term used to describe the most vivid and pure red color seen in high-quality Burmese rubies. These rare gemstones often come from the Mogok ruby mines in Myanmar.

Would have bought an indigo and selenite, but neither listed. But, you do offer quite a large assortment otherwise.

I've made several purchases through GemSelect in the past, although not within the last six months. Their gems are always beautiful and I have never had an issue with their prices or their stones. Even when I'm not buying, I love scrolling through their website, which is very user friendly. I especially appreciate being able to change the listing order to your own liking, such as most to least expensive, largest to smallest, etc. As with most online orders, however, I think the shipping charges are not commensurate with the actual weight of the items shipped.

I always enjoy the selection and the unique cuts I can find here. I would love to see more hex cuts tho! Maybe some rose cuts too!

The site provided lots of detail, factual data, and good photos. I also like the availability of searching by price range as well as by the type of stone.
