FAQs
What is a loose fire opal?
A loose fire opal is a gemstone that is not set in any jewelry, allowing you to choose a setting or design. These include options like fire opal faceted gems, fire opal cabochons, and even uncut fire opals.
What types of loose fire opal are available?
We offer a variety of loose fire opals, including Mexican Fire Opal, Ethiopian Fire Opal, and Australian Fire Opal. Each type has its own distinct color, from bright orange fire opal to deep red fire opal and sunny yellow fire opal.
What is the difference between faceted fire opal and cabochon fire opal?
Faceted fire opal has multiple polished surfaces that enhance its sparkle, making it ideal for rings, earrings, and necklaces. Cabochon fire opal, on the other hand, has a smooth, domed surface that showcases the stone's natural color and clarity.
Can I find matching pairs of fire opals?
Yes, we offer fire opal pairs, perfect for creating matching jewelry pieces like fire opal earrings. Additionally, you can explore our fire opal parcels for a selection of stones in similar colors and sizes.
What makes natural fire opal special?
Natural fire opal is known for its vibrant, fiery colors and play-of-color effects. These gemstones can range from bright fire opal to more subtle hues, and their natural beauty makes them a popular choice for custom jewelry designs.
How can I use loose fire opals in jewelry?
Loose fire opals are versatile and can be used to create a variety of jewelry pieces, such as fire opal rings, fire opal pendants, and fire opal necklaces. The choice between a faceted fire opal and a cabochon fire opal depends on your desired style and setting.
Are there different colors of loose fire opals?
Yes, loose fire opals come in a range of colors, including orange fire opal, red fire opal, and yellow fire opal. The color can vary based on the origin, with Mexican Fire Opal often displaying vibrant reds and oranges, while Ethiopian Fire Opal can exhibit a range of hues.
What is an uncut fire opal?
An uncut fire opal is a raw gemstone that has not been shaped or polished. These stones are ideal for those who want to create unique, custom jewelry pieces or prefer the natural, untouched beauty of the stone.

The website design looks dated and not particularly up to date with what you would expect from a site selling gemstones - however the product information is clearly laid out and well marked, with details for each product sold.

I visited several online loose stone shops trying to find rare stones. I finally found one that I've been looking for here, and very satisfied. Looking forward to receive the item in 3 weeks.

On the clarity options it goes "and better" so if youre looking for si specifically and you click si and better it still shows you basically everything. It just removes the opaques. Itd be nice if it was vs only, vss only, si only, etc

Would have bought an indigo and selenite, but neither listed. But, you do offer quite a large assortment otherwise.
