This gemstone is a natural 8.11mm round facet Apatite. The gemstone weight is 2.31ct and it was mined in Madagascar. This Apatite comes in VS clarity. "VS" stands for "Very Slightly Included" and is considered eye-clean. This gemstone has been heated to improve its color and clarity. It is a very common treatment for gemstones. The item is sold as seen in the picture: 1 piece Apatite for the price listed.
The Apatite has a calibrated size of 8 mm which is perfect for standard jewelry settings.
It is believed that wearing apatite is beneficial in all matters to do with bones and teeth.
Apatite is 'the Stone of Inspiration and Motivation'.
This is a good size for a center-stone in a ring design.
O.K. experience. Pictures could be a little better, offer more views, especially full face on, to get a better idea of how a stone would look mounted in a ring, i.e., how centered the star is. The prices seem pretty fair.
Its been a while since last time I bought at Gem Select. Years ago Derek Lee attended me and always was a great experience. He and his team always helped me to follow up my order and fulfilled all my needs and requests. Hope he is still around! Thank you all and keep the good work!
I was looking for a cabochon multicolor labradorite stone, suitable for a pendant. I found gemselect.com & their computerized sort by price helped me find the stone i was looking for! Yes, I will come back when i am looking for gem-quality stones.
I had a limited budget and wanted a star ruby. GemSelect offered small, but pretty stones at a very reasonable price. I've always been satisfied with my GemSelect purchases, although there are also eBay vendors I use for less expensive gems. Their selection of more expensive stones, like rubies, is very limited, however.
If you want a gem that you can trust to not be treated, or if it is it’s disclosed this is the place! There’s something for everybody. I really like knowing that the picture of the item is the one I’m buying, not a sample or stock photo. If you make jewelry, buy gems here! You can even buy a gem and have it set by a jeweler. Again, they have an amazing inventory, and prices are more than fair. You won’t be disappointed! I just wish they sold uncut gems. Sometimes I just want a specimen in the crystal form. I’m surprised they had no quartz from Arkansas, but they have a great selection of anything I’ve ever looked for.
Buying gemstones is always a mystery because you rarely get what you see. If these are delivered exactly as shown I will be quite impressed. That feature seems very intuitive and I always like seeing the actual thing I'm buying before I buy it.
