About Star Garnet
Garnets have been widely known for thousands of years. Although the color red occurs most frequently, there are also garnets showing different shades of green, pale to bright yellow, fiery orange and fine earth and umbra shades. Blue has been the only color that is not available in garnet, but recently color-change garnets from Madagascar have been found n blue.
Garnet has very good hardness and a high refractive index. Garnets are quite sturdy and resistant to everyday wear and tear, and uncomplicated to work into jewelry. Garnets qualify for any cut and come in various shapes and offer an affordable price per carat weight. Garnets are almost always untreated..
Star garnet is a rare and unsuual garnet, found only in Idado in the USA and in India. It displays a four-ray star due to aligned inclusions of rutile.
I've been very satisfied with the gems I have purchased since 4 years ago. Good service, variety, clear information regarding the stones for sale and very interesting gemstone information. Congratulations!
I really like the selection from GemSelect. My only complaint is that I would occasionally want a singular small gem for a small setting, but would only be able to find appropriately sized gems sold in pairs or more. There is a limit to how small of a gem that can be bought independently that I dislike.
Strengths: I LOVE the huge range of gems you offer, including collector's gems that are hard to find anywhere else. I also love the range of information provided, and the monthly newsletters!
Weaknesses: Due to the great range of inventory (a strength!), it's hard, even with all the useful filters, to narrow the search parameters enough! Suggestions: Add even more filters, such as "emerald green," not just "green," to your color filter choices. (Yes, just what you wanted, more coding work!)
Overall: Your site is incredibly valuable to gemhounds everywhere, whether we be jewelers, geologists, or just interested browsers. A wonderful resource!
