A gemstone cabochon is cut with a highly polished rounded top with no faceting and a flat or slightly domed base. A cabochon may be cut into any shape, though oval is the most frequent. The term, "cabochon" comes from the French "caboche", meaning small dome. Some gem types are almost always cut "en cabochon", including opal, jade, turquoise, onyx, moonstone, and star sapphire. Cabochon is often shortened to "cab" by gem enthusiasts. Cabochons make excellent necklace pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings and more.
Emerald is the most precious stone in the beryl group. The wonderful green color of emerald is unparalleled in the gem world. Emerald, by definition, is a medium or darker green to blue green beryl, in which the green color is derived from impurities of chromium, vanadium, or a combination of both. The most popular and valuable color is a slightly bluish green in a medium dark tone with strong to vivid saturation. Clarity is important, but inclusions are tolerated more in emerald than virtually any other gem. Unlike other beryl gems, emeralds often contain inclusions and other flaws. These flaws are not looked on as negative aspects for emerald like they would be for other gemstones. Indeed, these flaws are considered part of the character of the stone and are used to assure the purchaser of a natural stone.

I always check this site because they have unique options.
I ordered this really nice pair of Rubies from Gemselect and I love them because of all the detailed information you get. Also if you scroll down you can see other similar items single, in pairs, lots, bigger, smaller, etc and it's such an easy website to use.
I wasn't sure where to go to find a variety of gemstones to choose from in the size and shape that I was looking for. I'm really glad I found this website because the search options and filters made it really easy to find what I was looking for. The prices seem quite reasonable. This will be the first place I go the next time I'm looking for a gemstone!
