Sphene is named from the Greek word for wedge, because of its typical wedge shaped crystal habit. The mineralogical name "Titanite" derives from its titanium contents. Natural sphene is scientifically known as Titanite, named after its titanium content.

So many gorgeous stones! The only "complaint" I have is it's difficult to visualize sizes in mm. Perhaps some way to compare in inches?It has been a long time since I bought stones from Gem select, but the process wasn't too difficult.
