Rutile Quartz Rutile (or rutilated) quartz is clear or smoky quartz with inclusions of rutile crystals. Rutile is the mineral name for natural crystals of titanium dioxide. Rutile is best known for its affect on gemstones such as star sapphire and tiger's eye, where microscopic rutile crystals bundle so tightly that they bend light into band and star patterns. Rutile can occur in a variety of colors, including yellow, golden, red, brown and black.
While most varieties of transparent quartz are valued most when they show no inclusions, rutilated quartz is valued specifically for the lovely patterns formed by the delicate golden needles of rutile inside it. Rutilate quartz lends interestings patterns and colors, and owed to its excellent durability, it is perfectly suitable for ring-wearing. Most rutile quartz rings feature cabochon gemstones, but faceted gems are also equally stunning.

Well I was looking for the perfect stone to set in a ring for my partner. I found this Garnet on a website called Gemselect and it captured my eye. I had to have it for her. It looked as perfect as she does. I got the stone I wanted for $150 shipped straight to me. It’ll be the perfect Christmas present
