- SI = Slightly included - Small inclusions can be seen with the naked eye
- I1 = Included - Inclusions can be seen with the naked eye
- Transparent = A gemstone having the property of transmitting light without serious diffusion / may have rutile or other inclusions

About Quartz
Quartz is one of the most common minerals on earth, and is well known in the gems world in its many forms --
amethyst,
citrine,
ametrine,
smoky quartz,
rose quartz and lemon quartz. Quartz is attractive and durable, as well as inexpensive. It can be cut and carved in many forms and sizes.
There are 2 main varieties of quartz -- crystalline quartz occurs in distinct crystals, such as in amethyst and citrine. In cryptocrystalline quartz, the crystals are microscopic and the quartz is opaque or translucent. Examples include
chalcedony and
agate.
