About Labradorite
Labradorite is a member of the plagioclase feldspar group, which also includes andesine and sunstone. Labradorite displays a schiller called labradorescence in lustrous metallic tints, often blue and green. It is mainly caused by interference of light from lattice distortion.
Labradorite desposits are found in Labrador, Canada (hence the name), as well as in Australia, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the USA.
