18.18ct Gaspeite
A recent discovery (1966), Gaspeite is a very rare nickel carbonate mineral named for the place it was first described, in the Gaspé Peninsula in eastern Canada. Specimens have also been found in Western Australia. Typically an opaque bright green, Gaspeite has a Mohs' hardness of 4.5 to 5.0.
