Agate is a form of chalcedonyquartz that forms in concentric layers in a remarkable variety of colors and textures. Fire agate is an opaque, limonite-bearing chalcedony with iridescence which is created by diffraction of light by the layered structure.
Fire Agate is found in only a few locations in the world, mainly in the southwestern USA and Mexico.
